Battle for Moscow is a DOS game released in 1993 into the public domain with full source code in C. The maps and rules are based on the Frank Chadwick boardgame of the same name. Chadwick wrote the game as an introduction to wargaming - it has a small map, simple rules and few counters and can be played in under an hour, but retains classic wargaming mechanics and strategy.
